Spain reports 1st case of Zika-linked microcephaly

Health authorities say they’ve identified the initial case in European country of the defect abnormalcy within the vertebrate of a pregnant girl infected with the Zika virus.

The health department for the northeastern region of Catalonia aforesaid the girl traveled to South America some months agone and had narrowed Zika and dandy fever. In a statement the department said the vertebrate has many malformations.

The Health Ministry confirmed Friday that it was Spain’s initial case. It said European country has known one hundred and five individuals infected with Zika, 13 of them pregnant ladies.

The mosquito-borne Zika virus can cause abnormalcy, a severe birth defect within which babies are born with abnormally tiny heads and brain injury.

The phenomenon was initial detected in Brazil, where specialists say there ar nearly one,200 confirmed cases of abnormalcy.
